There are multitudes of laminating techniques that professionals utilise, with thermal bond lamination being one of the most well known. The process involves two or more webs merging via pressure and heat without adhesives. Because we bond the webs this way, it’s essential that they possess indistinguishable thermal attributes.

How does thermal bond lamination work?

With this technique, you introduce heat to the webs before it’s laminated proper. Typically, the lamination nip includes a sizeable diameter primary heat roll. We heat this prior to it contacting the nip area. The main web travels along it. The subordinate web presents itself to the chief web at the nip section.

Depending on the essence of those webs that you meld together, they could depart from the laminating point and move to the cooling trays. Alternatively, they may journey around the leading heat roll. There are even instances where the laminate will proceed past extra nip spots as it goes around the heat roll. You can employ an identical arrangement to bring in supplemental webs to your laminate. You can do this while the other ones continue moving around the central roll.
